Adobe PDF Document WHY GIRLS NEED GUIDES Adobe PDF Document WHERE IS THE COMMISSIONER - September to December

Hello Trillium,

Please allow me to introduce myself - Evelyn Parfitt, your Area Commissioner as of July 1st.

Many of you will know me as a Music Trainer who loves to come out and sing with the girls or to lead them in drama and dance. Some of you will remember me from the days when I did Intermediate trainings like Stages I, II and III, and "Behaviour Management Stategies." Guiders in Trafalger District will recall that, not too long ago, I was their District Commissioner and some in McHale will remember me as their "old" Division Commissioner. I'm still called "Sparkle" by many girls and leaders from my Sparks Guider days and if your memory is very long, you might know me as "Captain" or even "Brown Owl."For those of you who don't know me at all, I hope that we will meet before long and that you'll soon count me as one of your "guiding friends."

Look for me at District, Division and Area events. (I'm often the one at the microphone.) I'll be giving out my Commissioner's Patches to girls and Guiders who speak to me and I know you'll want one for your collection!

Many challenges lie ahead. The familiar pathways are now obscured by anger, uncertainty and sorrow. Some want to turn back; some want to give up. But Guiding is bigger than all of this. Let us go forward with courage and strength, firm in our friendship, true to ourselves and confident that nothing will ever dismantle this sisterhood of Guiding.

Yours in Guiding,

Evelyn Parfitt
Trillium Area Commissioner
